It’s one thing to compare two totally different background check services, but how do you choose between two similar services from the same company? Both BeenVerified and PeopleLooker are part of The Lifetime Value Company and they offer strikingly similar services at almost equal prices. Many will know BeenVerified from its many TV ads, while the lesser-known PeopleLooker is a more recent addition to the market. They both offer users unlimited background check reports plus unlimited property and address lookups. But how do you choose between these two almost identical services?

BeenVerified
One of the most famous background check services is BeenVerified, which has been running reports since 2007. With BeenVerified you can run people searches and look up phone numbers, addresses, and email addresses. Reports are well laid-out as data is separated into different categories. Address results give you a handy Google Maps location and an overall description of the property. BeenVerified really does put a lot of effort into its reports, even highlighting possible imposter accounts that might be mimicking a person’s identity – making it wise to try doing a background check on yourself. Criminal record results include court rulings, case numbers, judgments, and sex offender registries. Reports can either be viewed in the browser or downloaded as a PDF file.
BeenVerified’s support is available during business hours every day of the week, and there’s a brief FAQ to help you get acquainted with the service. Much like PeopleLooker, BeenVerified doesn’t allow you to run single reports instead offering automatically renewing monthly subscriptions with discounts if you pay for three months at once. All subscriptions allow users to run an unlimited number of reports and lookups.
Subscribe to TruthFinder’s People Search plan and get 17% off when paying two months in advance, which equates to $23.28 per month.
* Your membership automatically renews every 60 days unless you cancel before the start of the next term. TruthFinder will charge the recurring membership fee of $46.56 to the same payment option you use today until you cancel.
PeopleLooker
A decade after the release of BeenVerified, The Lifetime Value Company launched PeopleLooker. It’s immediately evident that the two services are very similar, even down to the websites, features, and pricing structure. Like BeenVerified, PeopleLooker provides four main searches: people search, phone lookup, address lookup, and email address lookup. You’ll even find that the results are similar, too. The background checks do a good job of discovering a person’s social media presence by checking Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Foursquare, and Pinterest. Unfortunately, where PeopleLooker really falters compared to BeenVerified is that some results are locked behind a premium payment. So, if you’re interested in finding out about a person’s court obligations, licenses, permits, or tax liens then you’ll have to pay extra. All reports can be viewed in the browser, downloaded as PDF files, or sent by email.
As with BeenVerified, support for PeopleLooker is available seven days a week during business hours either over the phone or by email. The pricing is very similar too, except that the monthly subscription is fractionally cheaper than BeenVerified, while the three-month subscription works out to be slightly more expensive. Of course, you have to take into account paying extra to unlock premium results as well.
Conclusion
In truth, if you want to tell the difference between BeenVerified and PeopleLooker you really need to put both services under the microscope. For the most part they’re exactly the same, with much of the same results and offering unlimited reports at incredibly similar prices. Perhaps the biggest difference is that some PeopleLooker results are locked behind premium payments, whereas BeenVerified offers the full range of its results without any limitations. If you do want to save a little money and aren’t bothered about those premium results, then PeopleLooker does offer a cheaper monthly rate. But if you need more in-depth background checks and you want to save money in the long run, then BeenVerified is the one to go for.
